Let’s start with weight loss medications. Both Hers and Noom offer access to prescription medications that can suppress your appetite, help you feel fuller, reduce your food intake, and promote weight loss.

Here’s how the offerings compare in more detail.

Hers | Weight Loss Injections

Eligible Hers customers can access both GLP-1s (glucagon-like peptide-1 receptor agonists) or oral weight loss medication kits through the online platform.

GLP-1 injections available through Hers include:

  • Wegovy®. Wegovy® (semaglutide) is a once-weekly injection. It’s approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for weight loss for people with a body mass index (BMI) of 30 or more, or 27 or more with at least one weight-related condition like obstructive sleep apnea, high blood pressure (hypertension), or high cholesterol.

  • Ozempic. Ozempic is also a once-weekly injection. It was approved by the FDA to help people with type 2 diabetes manage blood sugar (glucose). It’s sometimes prescribed off-label for weight loss because it helps reduce your appetite, so you eat fewer calories.

  • Mounjaro. Mounjaro is an FDA-approved once-a-week injection for treating type 2 diabetes, and it’s often prescribed off-label for weight loss. It works by suppressing appetite and increasing feelings of fullness.

  • Zepbound. Zepbound has the same active ingredient (tirzepatide) as Mounjaro in the same dose. The only difference is that Zepbound is FDA-approved for weight loss in those with a BMI of 30 or more or 27 or more with a weight-related health condition.

  • Generic liraglutide. Liraglutide is the active ingredient in both Saxenda® and Victoza®. Victoza is FDA-approved for the treatment of type 2 diabetes, while Saxenda is FDA-approved for the treatment of obesity. Liraglutide is administered as a once-daily injection.

Hers Oral Weight Loss Kits

Oral medications are an effective and affordable alternative to GLP-1s.

Oral medication kits through Hers — when combined with a healthy diet and exercise — help customers lose an average of 15 pounds in six months.*

*Based on self-reported data as of March 2025 from approximately 1,172 Hers customers on a personalized treatment plan including oral medication kits, along with a reduced-calorie diet and exercise. Customers reported their weight at their initial medical consultation and again at their check-in about 6 months later.

Oral medication kits, which start at $69 a month with a 10-month plan, are personalized based on your health history and weight loss goals. Your kit might contain some combination of the following daily pills:

  • Bupropion. Bupropion is an antidepressant that can be prescribed off-label in combination with other medications to help support weight loss.

  • Metformin. Metformin is FDA-approved as a diabetes drug and sometimes prescribed off-label for weight loss. The daily pill can suppress appetite and promote insulin sensitivity.

  • Topiramate. Topiramate (or the brand-name version, Topamax®) is an antiseizure drug that’s prescribed off-label for weight loss. It suppresses appetite, which can make you feel fuller for longer.

  • Naltrexone. Naltrexone reduces cravings for alcohol and opioids.

Oral medication kits also include vitamin B12, a nutrient essential for overall health.

Hers Side Effect Management

Many people experience gastrointestinal (GI) upset when initially starting weight loss medications, which is why doctors start you on a lower dose and slowly increase it over time. Side effects of medications like Wegovy® are typically temporary and resolve as your body adjusts to the medication.

Healthcare providers sometimes prescribe anti-nausea medication, like ondansetron (generic for Zofran®), to help ease nausea during this time. Depending on your treatment plan, you may be eligible for ondansetron at no additional cost. (This perk is not available to Wegovy® users.)

When you subscribe to Weight Loss by Hers, your care team can also help adjust your dosing schedule if necessary, so you can customize aspects of your treatment as your needs change over time.

Noom Weight Loss Injections

Noom also offers injectable GLP-1 weight loss medications, including:

  • Ozempic

  • Wegovy®

  • Mounjaro

  • Zepbound

Noom Weight Loss Pills

Noom offers access to metformin, which can be shipped directly to your door. Healthcare providers on the Noom platform may also be able to provide a prescription for other oral medications, but you would need to get those prescriptions filled at a local or mail-order pharmacy.

Comprehensive Programs: Hers vs. Noom Weight Loss

Weight loss medication is just one part of a sustainable weight loss program. You’ll also want to build healthy habits that will help you maintain a healthy body weight in the long run.

Both Hers and Noom offer access to weight loss services beyond prescription medications. Hers is unique in that it offers meal replacement bars and shakes for purchase, while Noom stands out for its community support.

Weight Loss by Hers

A personalized, comprehensive weight loss program through Hers includes a mobile app with a range of behavioral-change tools to help you make lifestyle changes that support long-term weight management.

The app includes:

  • Tools to track your protein intake, activity, hydration, sleep, and overall progress

  • Daily protein recommendations to help maintain muscle mass while taking medication

  • Nutrition tips tailored to your eating profile (like whether you’re a stress eater or tend to eat out of habit)

  • Daily activity goals to achieve regular movement while taking medication

  • Sleep and mindset techniques developed by psychologists to support overall wellness

  • 100+ healthy recipes and meal plans developed with nutritionists

  • Unlimited, 24/7 messaging access to a care team for any questions or concerns about your treatment plan

Meal Replacement Bars and Shakes

Through Hers, you can also purchase doctor-recommended meal replacement bars and shakes. These convenient, protein-packed bars and shakes are designed to support people taking weight loss medications. They may help you:

  • Feel full longer by adding more fiber to your diet

  • Eat a consistent amount of calories each day

  • Get more essential nutrients

  • Maintain lean muscle mass by adding more protein to your diet

“In my 20-plus years specializing in obesity medicine,” says Craig Primack, MD, Senior Vice President of Weight Loss at Hims & Hers, “I've seen firsthand how important it is that anyone seeking sustainable, long-term weight management not rely on medication alone.”

Dr. Primack recommends eating around 100 grams of protein a day during your weight loss journey.

“That holistic approach,” he says, “has been a pillar of our Weight Loss offering from the start, but these bars and shakes take it to the next level.”

Let’s crunch some numbers. Here’s how pricing compares between Hers and Noom.

Weight Loss by Hers Cost

You don’t need insurance to access Hers — pricing is straightforward with no hidden fees. Full access to the comprehensive weight loss program through Hers and all the app features is included in the cost of your medication as well as ongoing provider support. Hers doesn’t charge membership fees like Noom.

Oral Medication Kits through Hers start at $69 a month (for a 10-month plan, paid up front in full).

With Weight Loss by Hers, those eligible can access compounded semaglutide starting at $199 a month for a 12-month plan, paid upfront in full. Hers provides multiple subscription options so customers can choose a plan that works for their budget and health goals. Compounded GLP-1s through Hers are also available in 1-, 4-, and 6-month plans.

No insurance is required to access treatment through Hers. But oral medications and GLP-1s available through Hers are typically eligible for reimbursement with a health savings account (HSA) or flexible spending account (FSA). (Check your plan for details.)

Using HSA or FSA funds, you can save an average of around 30 percent.*

*FSA/HSA eligibility and coverage vary by plan provider. Actual savings depend on your tax rate.

Noom Weight Loss Cost

Noom’s pricing structure is a bit more complicated because it includes monthly membership fees in addition to the cost of medication. You don’t need insurance to access Noom. And the cost also includes unlimited online access to healthcare providers.

Here are Noom’s prices:

  • Noom charges monthly membership fees of $99 a month, billed every three months. (Your first month with Noom is discounted.) These fees do not include the cost of GLP-1 medications.

  • You can get metformin through Noom at no additional cost, but GLP-1s cost extra.

  • The exact cost of your GLP-1 prescription will vary depending on your prescribed medication and whether you have insurance coverage for weight loss treatments (which is uncommon). GLP-1 medications can cost over $1,300 per month without insurance.

  • Noom customers who self-pay may be eligible for Zepbound® vials starting at $349 for the first month. It’s important to note that this price is for a starter dose; your higher, long-term dose will cost around $500 a month, plus the cost of the Noom monthly membership.

  • Lab tests, including blood work, may incur additional charges.

  • Medications through Noom are typically FSA/HSA eligible (check your plan for details).

Both Hers and Noom provide access to weight loss medications online, so you can get support from home — no visits to the doctor’s office required.

Getting Started with Hers Weight Loss

Here’s how Hers works:

  1. You’ll complete an online intake form. You’ll start with an online assessment in which you’ll answer questions about your weight loss goals, health history, and lifestyle habits.

  2. A healthcare provider will review your info. Most consultations on the Hers platform take place asynchronously (though consultation calls are required in a few states). The Hers platform allows for secure messaging between customers and providers.

  3. You’ll get a prescription and personalized plan. Your care team will determine which weight loss medications are appropriate for you, if eligible. If you’re a good candidate, you’ll get a prescription and a personalized weight loss plan with everything you need to kickstart your journey.

  4. Your medications are shipped to your door. Along with your medication, you’ll get relevant supplies and instructions on how to take your meds. If your provider prescribes it, you may also receive an anti-nausea drug called ondansetron (generic for Zofran®) to help manage any potential side effects of weight loss medications.

  5. You’ll have unlimited access to licensed providers trained in weight management. You can reach out to providers through the Hers platform anytime with questions or concerns. During these online check-ins, you can discuss your progress and let your provider know if you’re struggling with side effects. They might prescribe an anti-nausea drug like ondansetron (if you haven’t received it already) or recommend changes to your dosing schedule.

Noom Weight Loss Sign-Up Process

Noom has a similar process. You’ll start with an online assessment in which you’ll provide information about your weight loss goals and medical history.

A healthcare provider will review your answers and write you a prescription for weight loss medication, if they determine you’re a good candidate.

Your medication will be shipped to your home, and you’ll get access to Noom’s weight loss tools and a healthcare provider while you’re receiving treatment.

Clinical trials have shown that people taking Wegovy® lose about 20 percent of their body weight over 68 weeks, with diet and exercise*.

Additional research suggests these results can be long-lasting*, especially when the medication is accompanied by healthy habits like regular exercise, a balanced diet, and quality sleep.

*Based on two separate Wegovy® clinical studies. In a 68-week study, about 1 in 3 adults with obesity or overweight and weight-related conditions achieved 20% weight loss. Average weight loss achieved was 15%. In a 104-week study, mean weight loss achieved at 2 years was 15.2% vs. 2.6% for placebo. Individual results may vary. Stopping treatment may result in weight regain.

Medication through Hers is shipped to your door in as little as two days (although shipping times may vary). Shipping is included at no extra cost. Medications will be delivered directly to your home in discreet packaging. When necessary, temperature-controlled shipping is available to keep your medication stable.

Noom also delivers medication directly to your door in temperature-controlled packaging. It might take about seven days.

Weight loss medications may help people with excess weight and obesity lose weight and keep it off.

How do you know which company is best for you? Here’s a quick look at the differences between Hers versus Noom:

You can also buy meal replacement bars and shakes to support your weight loss goals. On Noom’s app, you can access nutrition advice, workouts, tracking tools, and online support groups.

  • The process. Hers and Noom work similarly. You’ll do an online intake form, and a healthcare provider will assess your answers and prescribe medication if appropriate. Medication is then delivered to your door.

  • Cost. Hers offers access to personalized oral weight loss medication kits starting at $69 per month (with a 10-month plan, paid up front in full). Hers customers can access compounded semaglutide injections starting from $199 a month for a 12-month plan paid upfront in full. There are no membership fees.
