Are controlled substances prescribed?
Currently, providers on our platform do not prescribe controlled substances (eg, benzodiazepines, klonopin, etc.) for psychiatric care. Instead, the mental health provider you work with on our platform will review symptoms of anxiety or depression, your medical history, and other information to determine the best psychiatric medication among a range we offer.
What can I expect during a psychiatry telemedicine visit?
You will answer questions about mental health and provide information about your medical history and physical symptoms to a medical provider. The provider will be an online doctor or nurse practitioner who can determine if medication or other options are right for you (such as psychotherapy, referral, etc). These mental health professionals will then share the information with you so you can make an informed decision on treatment options.
Do the depression or anxiety medications have side effects?
Most medications have the potential for side effects, some more than others. Potential side effects from selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs) and other psychiatry medications on our platform are listed on our website under important safety information on each medication page among other places.
