Sunscreen and Moisturizer Recommendations When Taking Acne and Anti-Aging Treatments

While using this treatment, we recommend that you apply a facial moisturizer twice a day as well as sunscreen with an SPF of 30 or higher when you are outside during daytime hours. Sunscreen should be reapplied often throughout the day according to directions found on the product’s label. Examples of such products* that can be found at your local drugstore, grocery store, or online include the following:

Daily sunscreen, non-comedogenic (for acne-prone skin):

  • Neutrogena Clear Face SPF 30

  • Cetaphil DermaControl Moisturizer SPF 30

  • Coppertone Defend & Care Oil Free Sunscreen Face Lotion SPF 50

  • Black Girl Sunscreen SPF 30

Nighttime moisturizer (does not contain sunscreen) - apply after your prescription treatment:

  • Differin Restorative Night Moisturizer

  • Aveeno Positively Radiant Overnight Hydrating Facial

  • Aveeno Calm and Restore Oat Gel Moisturizer

  • Neutrogena Hydro Boost Overnight Hydration Cream

Moisturizer (SHORT-TERM USE) for the treatment of skin irritation (stinging, cracking, redness, burning, rash, swelling) that may occur within 1-3 weeks after starting treatment. Apply to the affected areas in the morning and at bedtime:

Sunscreens with only physical blockers (chemical-free sunscreens - recommended for children, pregnant or breastfeeding individuals, and for any adults who are allergic to or sensitive to components of chemical sunscreens):
